Photojournalism

I have learned in this class :

I have much to learn about photography.

Finding subjects can be difficult.

I do well at approaching people and like to find a common ground to go off of.

Different ISO settings.

What I suck at in this class:

Not always being able to find a subject.

Last minute.

What I can do to improve:

Plan ahead of time.

Make room for more than one possible subject.

This past weekend, a carnival came to Rosenhayn, N.J. People flooded the ground, brining children excited to hop on rides.

Diesel

In October the Wawa on route 49 and Wade blvd began to undergo changes. Construction is being done to add diesel pumps to the store. I took a moment with the construction workers on site.

October 7th, construction workers are on site preparing Wawa for diesel.

Making sure work is going as planned.

Holding a conversation with me as they work.

Another day's work.

Keeping an eye on....?
Heavy construction.

Back to work.

Making room for diesel pumps.

Taking a break.

Enjoying a coffee break and a chat.

Last moment of break time.

Arson Detroys Bowling Alley

In December of 2009 a fire destroyed Vineland, N.J. bowling alley, Loyal Lanes. It was later discovered the fire was due to arson. Three people were involved, including the owner of a rival bowling alley.

A picture of Loyal Lanes from across Delsea Drive 9 months after the fire. September 29th, 2010.

Standing in what used to be the parking lot

Glass shattered from the fire and only the metal frames remain of the front door.

What used to be the frame for the Loyal Lanes sign.

Rear shot gives the viewer better picture of the damage.

Behind the chain linked fence you can see what remain of the bowling lanes.

A closer look at charred bowling lanes.

A dumpster next to the building holds some remnants of the alley.

Trespassers have left their mark while exploring the building.

A glimpse into to the basement to see bowling pins held in an old shopping cart.
